Injections and Fillers
Botox and Anti-Aging Injections
In the fight against the effects of aging, anti-wrinkle injections such as Botox and injected fillers can do wonders, either on their own or in combination with different face lift surgeries.
Botox injections are normally used to relax the muscles that create skin wrinkles at the corners of the eyes (the “crow’s feet”) and in the frown lines between the eyebrows and on the forehead. In addition to Botox, Dr. Carter also uses Dysport, which is less well-known, but has been clinically proven to be more effective over time than Botox. Both of these products, though, are safe, quick, and effective ways to smooth out some of the most tell-tale wrinkles of the face.
Restylane And Other Fillers
To combat the lip and cheek atrophy that accompanies aging in some people, Dr. Carter also offers some tried and true fillers: Restylane to plump up the lips and autologous fat injections to fill out sunken cheeks. Restylane has been a trusted name in cosmetic fillers for years, and it is a safe and effective way to increase lip volume for that youthful, rounded look and feel. Autologous fat is adipose tissue taken from your own body, processed, and reinjected to round out the cheeks and other areas that have become hollowed out with age. Because the fat is autologous, there is much less chance of rejection or other adverse reactions.
